SAFF policy is created by the various SAFF committees. Committee members are regionally elected from SAFF membership. SAFF develops policies both reactively and pro-actively and makes various submissions in relation to State and Federal Government inquiries, discussion papers and other proposals. How many farms and jobs ? There are currently 13,475 farms and 33,000 people employed in agricultural production jobs in South Australia and 146,000 South Australians are employed in the food sector. There are 5,127 Beef Producers in SA who produce 93,000 tonnes per year with a gross production value of $278 million.
